Pete Mosley is the author of The Art of Shouting Quietly – a guide to self-promotion for introverts and other quiet souls. Shouting Quietly has had international success and is a ‘set text’ for Cambridge University’s Leading Change programme. Pete also writes and podcasts regularly for Psychologies magazine, and contributes to Susan Cain’s Quiet Revolution website – helping support a huge shift in the way that businesses, schools and families work with introverts.

Pete delivers talks and workshops on confidence building, values-led communication and presentation skills for corporate clients, universities, and creative and cultural organisations. His specialism is in working with Introverts, quiet and shy people and the organisations that employ them. He helps people to explore why these are important issues in respect of diversity & inclusion.

After Pete’s sessions, people start to speak up. They gain confidence from knowing how to sound good without being shouty, arrogant or pushy.  He teaches on the Barefoot Coaching Ltd. ICF/Postgraduate Certificate in Business & Personal Coaching.

The Art of Shouting Quietly – how introverts – and other quiet souls – can thrive in the workplace. (This is available as a standalone talk, and in a longer workshop/masterclass format)

How much value is locked up in the minds of your quieter team members?

Do you get frustrated when good people fail to speak up? If you could turn the tap on – let those unexpressed ideas and suggestions flow – how might your organisation change for the better?  How much value is locked up in the minds of your quieter team members?

  • Would you like to learn how to tap into a wealth of great ideas and thoughtful observations?
  • Are you aware of all the reasons why people are quiet – or become quiet? It’s not all about introversion/extroversion.
  • Do you get frustrated when good people fail to speak up? If you could turn the tap on – let those unexpressed ideas and suggestions flow – how might your organisation change for the better?
  • What might the costs and benefits be?
  • Have you any idea how a few simple changes might create benefits across your organisation?

This talk reveals the ways in which quieter souls can be given the tools, structures and confidence they need to contribute – within their day to day work, at team meetings and in dealing with stakeholders. By helping quieter team members contribute more effectively, companies can reap the rewards of the quiet wisdom and deeper thinking that happens but doesn’t come to light in the noise, cut and thrust of a busy workplace.

Who is this for?

  • Leaders and managers who need tools and techniques to work inclusively with quieter team members, help them speak up and be heard as equals with their more vocal teammates.
  • Quieter people (shy, introvert, reflective) who need to find a voice and build the confidence they need to participate more in life and at work. This talk explores meaningful, values-driven ways to share ideas and communicate what they do.
