Paul McVeigh was a professional footballer for 16 years, with over 300 appearances and over 40 goals, playing for clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, Luton Town and Norwich City.
Paul was a key member of 2 championship winning teams and rose to the pinnacle of English football – ‘the premier league’, as well as representing his country at senior international level on numerous occasions.
Since retiring, his transition from athlete to a professional speaker has been a seamless one, Paul is in great demand to deliver speeches throughout the UK to a wide variety of audiences. In the last 12 months, he has delivered a variety of keynotes, seminars and workshops, regularly receiving outstanding feedback from a variety of audiences.
As well as Paul’s media commitments, he co-founded ‘ThinkPRO’, which specialises in the psychological development of professional football players and supporting students in the lead up to and during exams. Paul’s first book is entitled “The Stupid Footballer is Dead”, published by Bloomsbury. Paul has taken the lessons he learned on and off the pitch and applied them to aspects of teamwork and performance that can be adapted to any individual or organisation.
Paul is one of a small number of individuals who utilises his insight of football to work across all 4 major networks in the UK media. He is a presenter on the BBC, reporter on Sky Sports, commentator on BT Sport and analyst on TalkSport.
