Mental Health Awareness week
Ben Smith helping you to #Findyourhappy
Join our free webinar led by Ben Smith
and hosted by Jonathan Stanger
The webinar will touch on mental health and motivation, helping the audience to “find their happy”. It is a topic that we are working on closely with many of our clients and never more so than in the current situation we find ourselves in. Whether that be at home or in the workplace the need to support or colleagues is at the very top of the agenda.
Our speaker Ben Smith, has spoken publicly about his mental health challenges for a number of years now. He struggled with his self belief, being bullied, his physical well being, being honest about his sexuality and he eventually ended up in hospital at the age of 29 after a mini-stroke. Since then he has ran 401 marathons in 401 days, clocking up 10,506 miles, which is the distance from London to Sydney and ran with over 9,500 people, some of which had never run that far before! The challenge raised in excess of £330,000 for two anti-bullying charities, Stonewall and Kidscape. Ben and The 401 Challenge is one of the most inspirational and courageous stories in the UK and in this webinar Ben is going to share it with you.
The 401 Challenge gained national and global coverage, successfully driving an increased awareness of the issues of bullying and the harmful effects it can cause. It also led to Ben receiving numerous awards including:
- BBC Sports Personality of the Year – Helen Rollason Award 2016
- Pride of Britain National and Regional Fundraiser of the Year 2016
- Commendations from Her Majesty The Queen
- Commendations from HRH Prince William and the Prime Minister
These are great and Ben is very grateful for them, but what motivates Ben and his team at the 401 Challenge, is the positive effect the 401 Challenge has had and continues to have on hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
